The staff of Snedden Hall & Gallop are proud to be actively involved in the restoration
of flora and fauna at Angas Downs, Northern Territory, for the Ananga Community.
Through Bill Andrews’ association with Rotary, the staff identified an emu breeding
programme as being a worthwhile part of the project in which they could be involved.
Funds raised from the sale of coffee from a new Nespresso machine, have enabled
significant funds to be channelled to Angas Downs. This has been used to buy emu
chicks and contribute towards the establishment of an emu breeding compound on the
property. To date, seventeen juvenile emus have grown to maturity. In due course,
some will be selected for an ongoing breeding programme, whilst other will be released
into the wild to re-populate the 700,000 acre reserve.
